We are at a time in our nation’s history where we need to know what school board candidates stand for if we are to allow them to make decisions regarding our children’s learning and future.

Consolidated (Municipal) Election
The Illinois State Board of Education calls the April 4, 2023 election the Consolidated General Election.
Voters will have candidates for the following offices: - City Government (Mayor, President, Alderperson, Commissioner, Trustee)
- Education - Community College District
- Education - School Boards (Elementary and High School)
- Fire Protection District
- Library Districts
- Park Districts
- Public Water District
Many people are calling this the "Property Tax Election" since these elected officials spend almost all of the real estate tax money. For most property owners, the units of government in the education group are over 2/3 of their total property tax bill.
Student-First Principles is focused on all of the education candidates, but most specifically on the elementary and high school boards.
